Oversized wall clocks have become very common in recent years, and they continue to be popular. Indeed, if you visit friends or colleagues at work, you may have already seen large wall clocks in their living room or kitchen. In this article, we will show you why and how to choose a giant clock instead of a classic clock.
Why choose a giant wall clock?
A giant frameless wall clock tells you the time, but it can also do a lot more. It is a true work of art for your living room, dining room, or any other room. A small clock can also add charm to your interior decoration but it will not receive enough attention compared to an XXL clock. When you enter a room with a large decorative clock, the first thing that will attract your attention will be this one.
The giant wall clock has a unique design and shape. The symbols and shapes are easily visible from afar and will allow you to add a personal touch to your home decor.
You may have a large empty space that you don't know how to fill. A giant wall clock is a perfect wall decoration to cover your wall in an elegant way. So you won't need to buy a multitude of decorative objects to fill that space.
In which room to put a giant wall clock?
You can integrate a giant wall clock in any room of the house. Indeed, it is enough that you have a large enough section of the wall. The giant clock will be both a functional and a decorative element. Still, if you display it in a bedroom and if you have a fragile sleep, the ticking of the clock may prevent you from falling asleep.
As far as we are concerned, we find that the best places to place a giant frameless wall clock are in the living room or dining room so that everyone can admire it. These are usually the rooms with the most space available and therefore it will make it stand out more.
At what height should I place my giant wall clock?
The basic idea is that you should hang a clock at a comfortable height so that you can see it. For a large wall clock, we recommend that you place the dial (which will be the center of your clock) at eye level or 20 cm above. The goal is to have a clock at the right height so that you can contemplate it without having to make any effort! If you place the mechanism of the clock too low then you will have to bend down constantly to read the time.
What color should I choose for my giant wall clock?
Choosing the color of your clock is not a factor to be taken lightly. It all depends on how important you want it to be.
If you want your giant clock to be highlighted and to catch the eye then it will be necessary to contrast the color of the clock with that of your wall. If your mural is dark then you will have to opt for a light color clock. Conversely, if you have a light wall then you will need a dark clock.
If you want your clock to be more discreet and blend a little more into the decor then choose a color close to that of your mural. It will be visible but the contrast of hue will be attenuated.
If you do not want to take a risk then acquire a clock with colors in neutral tones (white, gray, black), they will combine with any element.

How to install and fix a giant frameless wall clock?
1/ Fix a point on your wall. Choose carefully the place where the clock mechanism will be placed. This is the center of the clock so make sure you have enough room around it to stick the numbers and symbols.
2/ Place the mechanism on the point.
3/ Take the graduated ruler, it will help you to choose the diameter of your giant clock. Place the ruler on the clock mechanism and glue the numbers and symbols using the lines on the center of the pattern, keeping the same radius each time. Peel off the protective plastic on each number/symbol.
4/ Start by peeling off the transparent films on the hands and the clock disk.
5/ Remove the nut, add the disc and screw the nut back on.
6/ Add the hands, first the smallest hand, then the big hand. And finally, place the small cover last.
7/ Add one AA battery to the back of the mechanism. Set the time using the small knob at the back of the mechanism.
8/ Place the mechanism on the wall and admire your work.
